Im new - help please!!!

Hi - Im wondering if you can help me also.  I cant get past the installation phase. I keep getting error 'cannot connect to database server' check databse settings. id check them and also run a test which comes out fine at all times.

The first requirement on step 3 asks for'name of database server' I've only been putting in 'localhost' which I have a funny feeling this is wrong. What should I be putting in there. let me know what Im doing wrong as I feel this is the main cause. My database is fine and my server accepts cron jobs.  Everything is fine on the server end. Very frustrated. Help please.

please make sure your database user has correct permissions to your database.  if you do no know how to do this, please ask your web host.
